Applies to: Edge Tutor Candidate Hub / Applicant Tracking System, assessment tools, related recruitment communications and candidate-facing services
Contact: privacy@edgetutor.co

1. Overview

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your access to and use of Edge Tutor’s Candidate Hub, applicant tracking system, assessment tools, recruitment workflows, candidate communications and any related websites, forms, applications, desktop applications, tools or services that we make available to you in connection with your application or potential engagement with Edge Tutor (together, the “Candidate Hub”).

Please read these Terms carefully. By accessing or using the Candidate Hub, submitting an application, creating an account, completing an assessment, uploading content, installing or using any related tool, or communicating with us through the Candidate Hub or related recruitment channels, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the Candidate Hub or continue with the application process through it.

These Terms apply only to your use of the Candidate Hub and related recruitment services. If you are later engaged by Edge Tutor as a tutor, consultant or contractor, your engagement will be governed by a separate written agreement and any applicable onboarding documents. These Terms do not guarantee that you will be selected, shortlisted, trained, onboarded, allocated to a client account or engaged by Edge Tutor.

2. Binding agreement and updates

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Edge Tutor International Pte. Ltd. in relation to your use of the Candidate Hub.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will apply from the date it is made available through the Candidate Hub or otherwise provided to you. Where a change is material and it is reasonably practicable for us to do so, we may provide notice through the Candidate Hub, by email, by message, or through another appropriate channel. If you continue to use the Candidate Hub after the updated Terms apply, your continued use will indicate your acceptance of the updated Terms.

If there is any conflict between these Terms and a separate written agreement between you and Edge Tutor relating to your engagement as a tutor, consultant or contractor, the separate written agreement will prevail to the extent of the conflict.

3. Eligibility and candidate status

The Candidate Hub is intended for individuals applying for opportunities with Edge Tutor. You may only use the Candidate Hub for your own genuine application and recruitment-related purposes.

By using the Candidate Hub, you confirm that you are capable of entering into these Terms under the laws applicable to you, or that you have obtained any necessary consent or authorization required to do so. If you are under the age of majority in your country of residence, you must not use the Candidate Hub unless this is lawful and any required parent or guardian consent has been obtained.

Submitting an application or completing any stage of the Candidate Hub process does not create an employment, consultancy, contractor, agency, partnership or other working relationship between you and Edge Tutor. Any such relationship will only arise if and when Edge Tutor enters into a separate written agreement with you.

4. Registration and account details

To use some parts of the Candidate Hub, you may be asked to create an account, provide login details, verify your email address, or submit information through forms or linked tools. You must ensure that any information you provide is accurate, complete, current and not misleading.

You must update or notify us of relevant changes where this is reasonably necessary for us to communicate with you or assess your application properly. You must not create an account or submit an application on behalf of another person unless Edge Tutor has expressly permitted this.

We may refuse, suspend, disable or delete an account or application where we reasonably believe that the information provided is false, incomplete, misleading, duplicated, fraudulent, abusive, unlawful, or otherwise inconsistent with these Terms or our recruitment process.

5. Passwords and account security

If you create login details for the Candidate Hub, you are responsible for keeping them confidential and secure. You must not share your login details with any other person or allow anyone else to access the Candidate Hub using your account.

You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account, misuse of your login details, or any security issue affecting your use of the Candidate Hub. We may require you to reset your password, verify your identity, restrict access, suspend your account or take other reasonable steps where we consider this necessary to protect the Candidate Hub, other users, Edge Tutor, or the integrity of the recruitment process.

You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless and to the extent that the activity results from Edge Tutor’s own act or omission.

6. Use of the Candidate Hub

We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to access and use the Candidate Hub for the purpose of applying for opportunities with Edge Tutor and participating in our recruitment process.

You must use the Candidate Hub fairly, lawfully and responsibly. You must not misuse the Candidate Hub, interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system or data, upload malicious code, use automated tools to scrape or extract information, reverse engineer any part of the Candidate Hub, impersonate another person, submit false or misleading information, or use the Candidate Hub for any purpose unrelated to your own genuine application.

You must not upload, submit, transmit or record any content that is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, harassing, obscene, misleading, fraudulent, invasive of privacy, infringing of another person’s rights, or otherwise inappropriate for a professional recruitment process.

7. Your application information

You are responsible for the accuracy, completeness and content of your application, profile, CV, responses, recordings, assessment materials, documents and any other information you provide through or in connection with the Candidate Hub.

You must not submit information that belongs to another person, misrepresent your qualifications, experience, identity, location, availability, technical setup or other relevant details, or use AI-generated, manipulated or copied content in a way that misleads Edge Tutor about your abilities, identity, experience or suitability.

We may use the information you submit to assess your application, communicate with you, manage recruitment workflows, verify information, conduct assessments, support onboarding, improve our recruitment process, and maintain appropriate records, in each case in a manner consistent with our applicable privacy notices and data handling practices.

8. Assessments, audio recordings and submitted materials

As part of the recruitment process, you may be asked to complete assessments, answer questions, record audio, provide sample teaching responses, complete technical checks, submit written answers, or participate in other evaluation activities.

You agree that Edge Tutor may review, store, evaluate and use your assessment responses, audio recordings, written submissions, files and related materials for recruitment, assessment, quality, training, moderation, verification, audit and process improvement purposes, to the extent reasonably appropriate for the recruitment process.

You must ensure that any audio, video, document, image or other material you submit is your own, is accurate and genuine, and does not infringe the rights of any third party. You should not include unnecessary personal data, sensitive personal data, confidential information of previous employers or clients, or information about other people unless this is specifically requested and appropriate.

Completion of an assessment does not guarantee that you will pass, be shortlisted, receive feedback, be offered training, or be engaged by Edge Tutor. We may use human review, automated tools, scoring systems or a combination of these to support assessment, but recruitment decisions will generally remain subject to Edge Tutor’s operational judgment.

9. Desktop application, device information and internet checks

As part of the recruitment or technical readiness process, Edge Tutor may ask you to install or use a desktop application or other technical tool. This may be used to collect or assess information about your device, technical setup, operating environment, internet connection, connectivity stability, system compatibility, hardware or software configuration, and other technical indicators relevant to your ability to deliver tutoring services remotely.

The purpose of these checks is to help Edge Tutor understand whether your technical setup is suitable for the relevant role or client requirements. The tool is not intended to give Edge Tutor unrestricted access to your device. However, depending on the tool and configuration, certain technical information may be collected automatically or displayed to Edge Tutor or its service providers.

You should only install or use the desktop application or technical tool if you are comfortable doing so and if your use complies with any device, software or network rules that apply to you. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights to install software on the device you use. If you do not complete the technical check, Edge Tutor may be unable to proceed with your application or may be unable to assess your suitability for certain roles or client accounts.

Edge Tutor may change, replace, suspend or discontinue the desktop application or technical checks from time to time.

10. Communications with candidates, including WhatsApp

Edge Tutor may contact you about your application through email, phone, SMS, WhatsApp, messaging platforms, recruitment tools, scheduling tools, or other communication channels you provide or use in connection with the recruitment process.

By providing your contact details and participating in the recruitment process, you acknowledge that Edge Tutor may use these channels to send application updates, reminders, interview or assessment details, onboarding information, document requests, technical check instructions and other recruitment-related communications.

WhatsApp and other third-party messaging platforms are provided by third parties and are subject to their own terms, privacy notices, security settings and technical operation. Edge Tutor is not responsible for the operation, availability, security or data practices of those third-party platforms. If you do not wish to be contacted through a particular channel, you should inform us, although this may affect the speed or practicality of communications.

11. Third-party tools and services

The Candidate Hub may include or rely on third-party tools, including applicant tracking tools, assessment tools, communication tools, scheduling tools, video or audio recording tools, messaging platforms, desktop applications, cloud services or technical testing providers.

Your use of third-party tools may be subject to additional terms, notices or technical requirements imposed by the relevant provider. Edge Tutor does not control all aspects of third-party tools and does not guarantee that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with your device, or available at all times.

Where third-party tools process personal data in connection with the Candidate Hub, Edge Tutor will generally seek to use such tools in a commercially reasonable manner and in line with our applicable privacy practices. However, the provider may also process data in accordance with its own terms and policies.

12. Privacy and personal data

Edge Tutor will handle personal data collected through the Candidate Hub in accordance with its applicable data protection and privacy policy, applicant notices, candidate disclosures and other relevant privacy information made available from time to time.

Personal data processed through the Candidate Hub may include identity and contact details, application information, professional background, qualifications, assessment responses, audio recordings, technical and device information, internet connection data, communications, account data, logs and other information relevant to recruitment, assessment, onboarding, security and administration.

We may use this information to manage your application, assess your suitability, conduct technical checks, communicate with you, verify information, operate and improve the Candidate Hub, maintain records, prevent misuse, comply with legal or contractual requirements, and support onboarding where applicable.

Your information may be accessed or processed by Edge Tutor personnel, service providers, and, where relevant, client representatives involved in assessment or onboarding for a particular account. Personal data may be processed in countries other than the country where you are located, subject to commercially reasonable and operationally appropriate safeguards.

13. AI and automated tools

Edge Tutor may use automated tools or AI-enabled functionality to support recruitment operations, such as organizing applications, generating summaries, assisting with communications, transcribing or reviewing assessment materials, supporting technical checks, or helping identify relevant information within candidate submissions.

You must not use AI tools to create or alter application materials, audio recordings, assessment responses or other submissions in a way that misrepresents your identity, abilities, experience, language proficiency, teaching style, technical capability or suitability for the role.

Edge Tutor does not intend to rely solely on automated decision-making for material recruitment outcomes without appropriate human involvement. However, automated tools may assist Edge Tutor in managing applications and prioritizing or reviewing candidate information.

14. Intellectual property and candidate content

You retain ownership of any pre-existing materials you submit to the Candidate Hub, such as your CV, portfolio, recordings, written responses or other application materials, subject to any rights you grant to Edge Tutor under these Terms.

By submitting content through or in connection with the Candidate Hub, you grant Edge Tutor a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, store, review, assess, display, process, adapt and share that content internally and with relevant service providers or client representatives for recruitment, assessment, verification, quality, onboarding, recordkeeping and related business purposes.

This licence does not permit Edge Tutor to use your content for unrelated public marketing without your consent, unless the content has been anonymized, aggregated, or otherwise used in a way that does not identify you and is permitted by law.

If you provide suggestions, comments or feedback about the Candidate Hub or Edge Tutor’s recruitment process, we may use that feedback without compensation to you.

l. harass, threaten, abuse, discriminate against or otherwise act inappropriately toward Edge Tutor personnel, other candidates, clients or service providers;

m. use the Candidate Hub for any unlawful, harmful, fraudulent or unauthorized purpose.

16. Availability and changes to the Candidate Hub

Edge Tutor aims to make the Candidate Hub available where reasonably practicable, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every device, or free from defects, viruses or other harmful components.

Access may be restricted, suspended or interrupted for maintenance, updates, repairs, security reasons, operational reasons, provider issues, changes to recruitment needs, or circumstances outside Edge Tutor’s reasonable control.

We may change, update, replace, suspend, discontinue or withdraw any part of the Candidate Hub, including any assessment, desktop application, technical check or communication workflow, at any time.

17. Suspension, withdrawal and termination of access

We may suspend, restrict, disable or terminate your access to the Candidate Hub, or discontinue your application, where we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms, provided false or misleading information, misused the Candidate Hub, failed to complete required steps, failed technical or assessment requirements, engaged in inappropriate conduct, or where access is no longer needed for recruitment purposes.

We may also remove or delete accounts or application information after a period of inactivity or where retention is no longer reasonably required, subject to our privacy and retention practices.

You may stop using the Candidate Hub at any time. If you wish to withdraw your application, you may contact us using the recruitment channel provided.

18. No guarantee of opportunity or engagement

The Candidate Hub is used to support recruitment and assessment. It does not guarantee that any opportunity will remain available, that your application will be reviewed within a particular timeframe, that you will receive feedback, that you will progress to the next stage, that you will be offered training, that you will be matched with a client, or that you will be engaged by Edge Tutor.

Edge Tutor may change, pause, close or withdraw recruitment opportunities at any time. Candidate selection remains subject to Edge Tutor’s operational requirements, client needs, assessment outcomes, availability, suitability, technical readiness, onboarding requirements and business judgment.

19. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Candidate Hub is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Edge Tutor does not make any guarantee that the Candidate Hub will meet your requirements, operate without interruption, produce any particular recruitment outcome, or be compatible with your device, system, internet connection or software.

You are responsible for maintaining your own device, internet connection, software, backups, security settings and ability to access the Candidate Hub.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

20. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Edge Tutor will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, loss of opportunity, loss of income, loss of profit, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or losses arising from your inability to access or use the Candidate Hub, your failure to complete an application step, third-party platform issues, or recruitment decisions.

Where liability cannot be excluded, Edge Tutor’s liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

21. Your responsibility and indemnity

You are responsible for your use of the Candidate Hub, the information you submit, your compliance with these Terms, and any consequences of submitting inaccurate, misleading, unlawful or infringing content.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify Edge Tutor against losses, claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Candidate Hub, your infringement of third-party rights, or your submission of false, misleading, unlawful or unauthorized materials.

22. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, unless another law is required to apply by mandatory rules in your jurisdiction.

Where a dispute arises in connection with these Terms or the Candidate Hub, the parties should first attempt to resolve the matter in good faith through practical discussions. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, it may be dealt with by the courts or dispute resolution forum having jurisdiction under applicable law.
